Weapon mods - what to do?
Hey everyone...
I have a basic question regarding weapon mods. I'll preface the discussion by stating I have salvaged a couple of bow mods while exploring (i.e. bow grip of warding {+7 armor} and a bow string of silencing), but I'm having a very difficult time selling either of these. Is it because they're in low demand? How can I determine what mods are IN high demand? Is it better to just merch the mods, or place them on a weapon? I don't know....I'm trying to find a way to earn some money and it's obvious I'm having no luck. I'd be appreciative if someone could provide some insight.... Thanks, A frustrated player. |

Hey wlucas44, I feel your pain. I have every bow string and grip sitting in my Ranger's inventory. Every once in a while I advertise them for sale and I get no bites at all. You could try the sell forum here on Guru though. Good luck.

For the most part you are better off just selling the weapon to the merchant with the mods still intact. There are very few mods that are actually worth trying to salvage and sell.
Amonst those that are valuable are: Max Fortitude, Max Sundering, and sometimes the 20% slaying ones like Demonslaying to the right person. The other mods all have varying values, most of them are so worthless that you will waste a ton of time trying to sell something that you might get lucky to sell for 500 or less gold. |

Unfortunately, upgrades are the hardest thing to sell in GW except the ones mentioned by Xenophon, if you're lucky you can find a person advertising to buy one. Also add dwarfslaying to that list if you have prophecies some people will want one to farm sf. The auctions usually are a good alternative but any mod that is not max and that you don't want should be merched while it's still on the weapon that way, you'll get more money out of it.

^ What Xenophon said. Its very rarely that you find that wierd guy going "WTB Ebon spear head" (which I did see the other day in Kamadon). Its just not worth the time usually. If you have NF, just use them on hero weapons. Otherwise, its really not worth the time for those 2 mods.

Scilencing is quite rare i find but so is the demand but the old hp/sundering and somtimes furious are the ones with worth. Although you can usually find some ppl looking for the less popular stuff in the wtb bit.

I want to say "Thank You" to everyone that responded. I truly appreciate the insight and help.
I guess I'm just frustrated because I want to "earn" my money, versus buying 100k or 300k on EBay. It's just tough to earn that type of money, unless you can farm a "major" boss (such as Rotscale, and others). Again, thanks for the help everyone. I'm a newb in this game , so any help is always appreciated. |

Personally, I have done very little farming for the gold I have gotten. Maybe I have just been lucky but I have gotten quite a few drops or good chests that have netted me a bunch of gold. So, really the best thing to do is to just play the game and have fun. From what I have seen, you will make gold and get some good stuff, but it is more important to just have fun in the process.

The way you find money in this game isn't to just find the uber rare item and sell it. Farming builds are based on quanity. You get a ton of white drops really quickly, sell them, and do it again and again.
